Three years since college graduation, I’ve finally found a job that suits me nicely – in addition to enabling me to write, edit and practice good journalism, it fulfills my desire to empower others and to connect with people throughout the world. The money, as in other non-profit jobs, is very little. Though I live fairly modestly, maintain a second job as a yoga teacher, and try to limit my consumption of useless things, I cannot say I am never challenged by my [lack of] finances … especially around the end of the month. And I certainly do value things that tend to cost me, such as living in one of the most desirable DC neighborhoods (Dupont Circle), practicing yoga, traveling, and eating organic. While it’s hard to strike a balance, I believe that with a bit of resourcefulness, a good attitude, and some exploration, it can be done. And that, my friends, is the goal of this blog. Join me!
